Building Connections – A Tour to China
April 19 – May 5, 2013
This trip is designed for SPIRAL families and friends. It aims to tour China and visit schools and families of the students who came to Vermont. During the trip, we will visit five cities and cruise down the Yangtze River to visit the Three Gorges and the controversial Gorge Dam that was built a few years ago. The five cities are: Beijing, Xi’an, Chengdu, Chongqing and Shanghai. In Beijing, we will see the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Hutong and the Temple of Heaven. In Xi’an we will see Terracotta Solders and Imperial Pool. In Chengdu and Chongqing, besides the regular site seen, we will have a chance to visit schools of the students who came to New England in the summer, meet their parents and have the students show us their hometown.
